“Bittersweet” is a single by Finnish cello rock band Apocalyptica in collaboration with Ville Valo (of HIM) and Lauri Ylönen (of The Rasmus). The music is by Apocalyptica, the lyrics by Ville Valo and the vocals by Ville Valo and Lauri Ylönen. he name “Bittersweet” reflects in the song itself, with Ville singing the “bitter”, and Lauri singing the “sweet”. 

In the video, Ville and Lauri are playing a spiritual boardgame. They are communicating with a dead girl whom they were both in love with. So there are mixed feelings between the two guys; and there’s also twist at the end of the video.

This is an appreciation blog for Lauri Ylönen (born Lauri Johannes Ylönen, April 23, 1979, Helsinki) the frontman of the Finnish alternative rock band, The Rasmus.

Lauri also has a successful solo career; his first album New World was released in March 2011 on his record label Dynasty Recordings.
